Designer Corinne McCormack has created a booming business based on the premise that eyewear and eyewear accessories are as important to a womans fashion image as the perfect red lipstick. Ive given women who were glasses the hip, trendy style theyve never had before, says McCormack.
Corinnes background as a former accessory buyer for a national department store, and later senior executive with a major jewelry company, gave her the foresight required to zero in a gap in the accessories market. Her premiere collection of eyeglass chains were an instant hit with women who wanted chic, coordinated looks for their eyeglasses. When I identified a product void in eyeglass chains I created a new category of Optic Necklaces the term I coined for a fashionable approach to a practical item, McCormack explains. More than mere chains, her fashion forward designs are artfully crafted with combinations of fine metal finishings, stones and beading.
McCormacks success is due as much to her innovative marketing strategy as it is to her business acumen.
